We are pleased to invite CSU staff, faculty, and administration to regional Supplemental Instruction training, delivered by the International Center for Supplemental Instruction based at University of Missouri-Kansas City. This two-day Supplemental Instruction workshop covers the following topics: procedures for selecting SI courses and SI Leaders; roles of supervisors and leaders as well as benefits; evaluation and funding of the program; training and supervision of SI leaders; theoretical frameworks underlying the SI model; and effective learning strategies and SI session activities. Attendees will also participate in SI session simulations. Those who complete the SI training will receive reproducible SI Supervisor and SI Leader manuals, SI Strategy Cards, and a certificate of completion from the International Center for Supplemental Instruction.
The Chancellor’s Office is paying for the cost of training and training-implementation materials (normally $875 per person) and in-training hospitality for CSU faculty and staff. However, it is the responsibility of those attending the training to procure travel funding from their respective campus for any travel expenses, lodging costs, and meals outside of the agenda.
See official event announcement (pdf) for further information.
